I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute and a BSc(Hons) in Psychology Applied to Information Technology from IADT. I remain committed to ongoing training and professional development, attending regular seminars and workshops. I hold several additional certificates such as certificates in working with shame, working with change and uncertainty, disordered eating and attachment, among others.
I am a psychodynamic therapist, working from a Humanistic and Integrative approach. Believing that each therapy encounter is unique to the individual the approach taken is tailored to the client and the relationship. These approaches include psychodynamic, humanistic, person-centred, gestalt and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
With particular emphasis on the client/therapist relationship, I believe that congruence and empathy are key to developing a safe space for the client to explore and work through their issues. I work with the client to facilitate greater understanding and develop internal resources and coping strategies.
I am passionate about the therapeutic work believing in the healing that can take place in the safety of the therapy room. I believe that providing a safe space can allow both the mind and body to heal.
